Our Curriculum

Our curriculum includes a focus on English, Science, Social Studies, and Math, as well as advanced courses such as:

  • High School Spanish I (8th grade)
  • High School Integrated Math (8th Grade)
  • Inquiry Based Learning Projects (5th-8th Grades)

We practice blended learning, meaning students are exposed to both traditional classroom instruction and technology-driven instruction, which helps prepare them for digitally administered courses in high school and beyond. AVID, or Advancement via Individual Determination, is in place to provide extra scholastic support to those students who seek it, while standard tutoring is also offered to all students both during and after the school day. The Encore program is in place to challenge and support our gifted and talented students.

Marshall is an official Cambridge School. All students have the opportunity to take Cambridge Math and Literacy classes.

In addition, each year all students will have the opportunity to complete an Independent Study/PBL Project of their choosing. In the Spring, students will  present their projects and receive feedback and awards from judges.
In 8th grade, qualified students will have the opportunity to earn High School credit in Integrated Math 1 and Spanish 1.

After school, students can explore other interests by participating in extracurricular activities like art, photography, band, cheerleading, dance, or even creative writing. All students are given a voice in the clubs and intramurals they attend, which provide opportunities for personal growth outside the classroom. We also offer seven TSSAA-sanctioned sports teams that students can join to show their Mariner pride!

To extend educational support out into our community, we offer English learning classes. We also facilitate monthly school-wide service projects to help charitable organizations in our community.
